Light x Shadow



phantogram.jpegMy piece was inspired by the Phantogram album cover and music video which featured a lot of light projections that created shadows imitating lines and shapes. This was done using HYPE Framework in processing but I decided to draw more on the idea of creating shadows on portraits of people. I used a tennis racket and a plastic cut out basket to project light from a torch through creating dark shadows on the faces of my models, similar to the style of the album cover. I also projected from further away to make it look like a gridded room creating a scene. I also experimented with projecting through a perfume bottle which created a yellow tint areas of the portrait (shown in the last 4 images below)
